Hello everyone, this is Tara again!
As promised here are all of the details of our first day at Indiana Comic Con. I should mention that this is our first ever non-local Comic Con event, so this will be a weekend of a lot of learning.
Today the event did not begin until noon so we decided to have an “actual” breakfast. We ate at Cafe Patachou because it was within walking distance from our hotel and seemed to have good reviews. The food was great, and the service was okay. Overall, we left feeling like it was a good way to start what would be a busy day.
After breakfast we headed to the convention hall to set up at our Artist Alley table (B22).
We were at the table for about 3.5 hours, and took turns manning it so that the other could take a look at all the other exhibitor tables (sorry no pictures- artists don’t really like having their products photographed). We met a lot of wonderful Tetra Ninja fans and sold several T-shirts! Thank you to all of those that came to say hi. It was lovely to meet you all.
We saw several impressive cosplayers. Stay tuned for an entire separate article containing all of the amazing cosplay outfits we will see this weekend. But to hold you over until then, here is a good one:
At 4:30 we packed up and headed to Room 136 where Nic’s panel on Professional Gaming Careers and YouTube was to start at 5:00pm. We were both very pleased with the turn-out, Nic met some incredible fans of his channel, and the Q&A period was filled with great questions from the audience. While I can’t detail the entire presentation here in this blog, perhaps if there is enough interest, Nic can make a separate article or video detailing all of the points he covered in his presentation. Comment below if this is something you would like see!
Now as some of you may know, Nic and I live right outside of Toronto Canada, home of the Raptors. It just so happens that the Toronto Raptors were to play the Indiana Pacers in game 6 today… and we were lucky enough to get tickets! Actually, awesome tickets:
The game started right after the exhibition hall closed, so we had just enough time to head back to our hotel, drop off our things, and head to the game. They lost 83-101, but we still had a great time!
We had to swim through a crowd of drunk yellow to get back to the hotel. No stops for us- we were both exhausted.
Tune in again tomorrow for what we think will be the busiest, most packed day at the Indiana Comic Con this weekend. Thank you for reading and goodnight!
Tara – xoxo
