Hello everyone! Tara here- reporting on day two of the Indiana Comic Con. Just like we predicted, today was the busiest day yet. We estimate that the attendance was at least double what it was on Friday.
The convention hall opened at 8:00 AM. You read that right…8:00 AM, bright and very early. In order to get there early we decided to have a quick breakfast-to-go at Starbucks in our hotel. However, once we got there we noticed the line wrapped around the corner and down the hall. There was no way we were going to stand in what looked like a 30 minute line to get Starbucks. So- we opted to just eat a real breakfast at the Marriott hotel’s dinning area- named Circle City Bar and Grille. This was the greatest decision. We had the best (fresh, lots of selection) buffet breakfast for a very decent price.
We were able to get to the convention hall before 10:00 AM. We stayed at our table, until 6:00 PM when the exhibition hall closed. During that time Nic met several wonderful fans, and we got to chat games, YouTube, and take pictures. You can check out @tetraninja on Twitter for more of these fan photos, but here’s one below.

The picture above is of Grant and Nic (@GeoffSprinkle is his father). Thank you Grant for dropping by to see Nic! It was great to meet you!
Several people also dropped by to purchase merchandise. Thank you so much to those that made a purchase, and to those that just stopped by the say hi. It means so much to Nic that you are taking the time and money to do so!
Since our Artist Alley table is at a corner, it is the perfect spot for people watching. And of course, this is actually the BEST thing at a comic con event. As previously mentioned, there will be an entire article dedicated to the best cosplays at the event. But for now I will share one of our favourites of the day:
For dinner we went to a steakhouse, Harry and Izzy’s. It was amazing. Probably the best steak I have ever had. That’s saying a lot since Nic and I have been to a lot of steakhouses in our travels. I know that it may seem that every place we eat at is a hit and not a miss. You may ask-“do you just not want to say a place sucks?”. Well you are right, we are lucky with our restaurants but we almost always use Yelp to guide us when in a new city, and their rating system almost never lets us down. So don’t worry, I will let you know if our meal sucks one day.
I don’t feel like I can sign off this post without mentioning that the Toronto Maple Leaf’s won the 2016 NHL draft lottery pick right before dinner and Nic has been loosing his mind with excitement ever since. This is a BIG deal people! Finally we won’t suck anymore!
After dinner, we walked back to our hotel (only about 6 minutes) and are getting ready for an early night. We think that we will sleep in a little bit tomorrow because we really need to catch up on our sleep, and are aiming to be at the event by 11:00 AM at the latest. We are looking forward to doing a bit more browsing of other exhibits tomorrow, as up to this point we have spent most of our time manning our table. There are a lot of talented artists out there on exhibit!
Make sure to tune in again tomorrow for a blog of the last day of the Indiana Comic Con event! We are hoping to make some purchases and will share those here. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read this post!
