Side Quest: Pokémon Go is a GO!
What’s up #TeamNinja, it’s Jesse here back from the E3 hiatus to bring you the next edition to Side Quest, albeit a short one. There really hasn’t been a whole lot going on since E3 but just to make sure you guys haven’t forgotton about me, here are the results of this week’s Side Quest.
- Pokémon Go Live in Select Countries
- Nintendo Files Patent for New Handheld
- Microsoft to Offer Xbox One Trade-up Program for Project Scorpio
1. Pokémon Go Live in Select Countries
Pokémon Go has made a grand entrance both through the media and on social media. Just type in Pokémon Go into Google and you’ll find stories of people causing accidents because they walk out and stop in the middle of the highway to catch a Pikachu or people getting mugged for their phones while stalking a Pokémon.
On the social media side of things, I for one have seen a never-ending flow of Facebook posts of weird and random places Pokémon have been caught including a friend who farted and found a ghastly and proudly posted that he “gave birth to a Pokémon”.
Good times seem to have been had and will continue to be had while Pokémon Go launches throughout the world.
➡ Check out our Pokémon Go post for more details into the launch of the app.
2. Nintendo Files patent for new handheld
It appears that the wheels are spinning inside the minds of the Nintendo think tank. Although this seems to be in the pre-embryonic (hell, maybe even pre-conception) stage, it is something to look forward too!

3. Microsoft to Offer Xbox One Trade-up Program for Project Scorpio
Scorpio! He’ll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth. Beware of Scorpio! Simpsons fan anyone? No? Fine….
With the 4K Project Scorpio and its holiday 2017 launch unveiled, Microsoft is now trying to get people to start thinking about their future purchase. Microsoft announced that it will be partnering with retailers to offer a trade-in/trade-up program for the “most powerful console ever made”. A price-tag for the Scorpio hasn’t been set yet and it isn’t known how much the Xbox One/One S will trade in for. All we know so far is that a program will exist.
That wraps up this week’s Side Quest. Your thoughts on any of the stories featured are always welcome; so feel free to leave a comment below. Until next week, stay frosty!
