What’s up #TeamNinja, it’s Jesse here with another edition of Side Quest. This week’s Side Quest resulted in the following:
- The Last Guardian will release in 2016.
- New Mega Man Animated Series Announced
- Details of Ghost Recons Wildlands Emerge
- Hitman 3 Episode 3 Announced
- The Ratchet & Clank Movie Lost 10 Million Dollars
- FaZe Clan Officially Leaves WESA
1. The Last Guardian Will Release in 2016
The Last Guardian will be out in 2016, says director Fumito Ueda. Announced back in 2007, fans were subjected to delay after delay until finally at E3 last year a bonafide trailer was released. Although not the biggest news of E3:2015 (FFVII: Remake FTW!!!!), it caused fans to get excited. We’re bound to get new information at E3:2016 so stay tuned.
2. New Mega Man Animated Series Announced
Ever wondered what Mega-man would be like as a “normal” robot attending school? Rhetorical question; of course you have! A new Mega Man cartoon is poised to hit the airwaves in 2017. This picture features a robot named Aki Light, living in Silicon Valley City who can transform into Mega Man. Only time will tell if this will lead to a resurgence of our favourite metallic suited hero that shoots big ass balls out of his arm…and is blue (Samus is orange so she doesn’t count).
3. Details of Ghost Recons Wildlands Emerge
After Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands had made itself known at E3:2015, the game kind of dropped off the face of the Earth. It turns out, it was in Bolivia (central South America for those that don’t want to Google it; you’re welcome). Ghost Recon Wildlands will take you through a multitude of landscapes which you traverse with a whole slew of vehicles to complete missions in any manner that you would like, be it Metal Gear style or Dynasty Warriors. Here’s to hoping that we get actually to see some gameplay at E3:2016
4. Hitman 3 Episode 3 Announced
Hitman Episode 3 will be available May 31, 2016. This episode takes you to Marrakesh (Morocco, the most north-west tip of Africa; you’re welcome again) to take out a banker inside a consulate and a well guarded General. Aside from the mission, this episode will include new Elusive Targets and Escalation Contracts.
5. The Ratchet & Clank Movie Lost 10 Million Dollars
With the hype of the Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed movies, it’s easy to understand how/why the Ratchet & Clank movie would not be on many people’s radars. If those same individuals checked their sonar, they’d probably find it along with the $10 million that sank with it. In one of my earlier articles I brought up the fact that video game movies have earned an abysmal track record; apparently Ratchet & Clank like to maintain the status quo. “The huge success of the Jungle Book, and continued strength of Zootopia, represented a loss of a large portion of the family market.” Riiiiiight, you keep telling yourself you would’ve captured that market had it not been for them.
6. FaZe Clan Officially Leaves WESA
Despite being a founding member and the organisation starting up a couple of weeks ago, FaZe Clan stated in an official statement that it will be leaving the World eSports Association (WESA). In a news release, FaZe states that “[WESA] doesn’t lack big metaphors of what it could be, but it lacks transparency on how to get there and that is the main reason for why we are leaving WESA.” It is uncertain whether or not any of the other seven teams (Fnatic, Natus Vincere (Na`Vi), Virtus.Pro, mousesports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team EnVyUs and G2 Esports.) remaining in the share this sentiment and if they will take a similar stance.
That wraps up this week’s Side Quest. As always, feel free to leave a comment below about anything you liked, disliked or would like to see changed. Until next week, stay frosty!
